Stan Goldman

Computer Course Instructor
Stan taught in the school system for twenty years. He has worked in Northern BC. His subject of choice was social studies, and wherever he could, he tried to give his students a glimpse of what he was teaching. One time, he took his class to a steel mill to give them a first hand look at the process.

He had been wanting to participate in a program at the JCC. When he saw the call for volunteers for an instructor to help other seniors learn how to use programs like Facebook and Skype, he had finally found something that interested him.

He has a background in the computer industry that goes back decades. He had a business that provided computer servers back in the 80s. He has a broad knowledge of the hardware, or machine side of things. Along the way, he has kept up to date with the current technologies and loves to try out new ways to use the internet and any other programs that pique his interest.

With his love of music, he was able to introduce our participants to the joys of listening to any type of music, anywhere in the world, via the internet. He is patient, kind, extremely knowledgeable and has a Yiddish expression or two for us.

The lesson plans for Blogging Bubbes + Zaides are created by him. Our continued thanks for his energies and experience in the program. After participating in the initial classes, he will be taking a much deserved summer off and will be back instructing in Fall 2011.
